Below the Bridge the river enters ‘Pwll- Du-William’ or ‘Williams-Black-Pool’ a
notorious deep and dangerous pool, before meandering its
way to Cenarth.
This is where the Drago
on
drowned in 1843.
The River runs from the Fish pass and Weir towards the Town Bridge.  This area was known as ‘Ffrwd-wen’ or ‘White-water’ and gave its name to the Flannel Mill which was situated on the left bank behind Ardwyn Terrace which can be seen on the left of the right hand photograph.
