The River Teify meanders around the Castle meadow to the Weir & Fishpass
This was taken in 2000. Lack of maintenance and repair has taken its toll of the weir. The leet on the right is still in use but the left hand side wall, sluice and leet has gone.
A weir made of rocks was used to divert the river each side of the island to provide feeds for a Famnnel Mill on the Cardigan side and a Corn Mill on the Carmarthen side.
A new Weir and fishpass was constructed in the 1890’s
